To his credit are a number of bigwig clients like HBO, Sony, Volkswagen, and Barclays. Although a dream clientele for any budding designer, it speaks only in part about the talent that Adolfo posses and a visual communicator.
Adolfo is a master of illustrations. He has produced some intricately beautiful pencil works. Good examples are the basketball players’ illustrations for an NBA campaign. Same mastery is evident in his works for Simone Biles and LeBron James.
One of his characteristic styles is combining traditional, detailed illustrations with mixed-media supporting the former. He also uses heavy, irregular, and often hand-drawn type.Typographical elements are a very important part of his compositions.
His choice of colors also leans towards fluorescent and mid to light values. This use of colors as irregular fill areas gives the compositions action and energy. This design choice is particularly helpful in sports related works.
